The UCSB-ECON DeFi Seminar is a graduate student-led seminar. We aim to create a collaborative environment for researchers to explore Blockchain and DeFi by sharing ideas, knowledge, and resources.

Our slogan is "By Graduate Students, For Graduate Students" because we believe as grad students that Ph.D. students should have a safe place to explore and learn about DeFi. DeFi is the future of finance and economics; therefore, we want to allow young researchers to feel comfortable exploring ideas in this new environment.

Here, we will share the most valuable resources and tools for researching and exploring DeFi and Blockchain. We also host a monthly Grad For Grad virtual coffee hours where Ph.D. students can meet and share ideas and thoughts on these topics and hopefully find new collaboration opportunities. During our seminars, we encourage people to ask questions, and our speakers will gladly answer any of them. Additionally, our speakers will have a few One-On-One meeting slots right after their talks to meet with grad students and speak about research.
